Today’s Blogmas post is pretty self explanatory. I made a post a while back about the 5 things that help me to appreciate fall, and this one is following the same route of finding goodness in the midst of bitter cold and no snow that we have where I live. Enjoy!
Peppermint
I don’t know why, but I’ve been obsessed with the scent and taste of peppermint this year. Peppermint bubble bath, soft starlight mints, mint tea… you name it, and I’m craving it! Something about peppermint just feels so fresh and clean ✨
Pine Needles
I bought a new can of Febreeze for the winter season, and it smells like a winter forest. Which I can appreciate, because I am a fan of forests, if not in winter🌲
Baking Things
Something about being away at college all semester makes having a home-cooked meal that wasn’t mass produced even more special. We had steak and carrots and potatoes and chocolate pie for Thanksgiving dinner, plus my mom made all the delicious baked goods all week, and it was wonderful! Wish I could bottle up the scent of a house full of good food being made and take it back to college with me 😋
Brussels Sprouts
This is probably the most random thing ever, but I had a dish with brussels sprouts in it the other day and it was so good. It kind of reminded me of the texture of lettuce, but with the taste of a milder form of broccoli, and the seasonings were almost maple-like. Very delicious, would eat again 🥬
Animal Fur/All the Furry Things
Everything furry this year, for sure. I bought a furry sweater at the beginning of fall, and I’m in love with its thick soft texture! Also living furry creatures, though the ones at my house don’t tend to enjoy being worn as a scarf or hat. Sigh…😿😆
Metallic/Sequins/Glitter
I guess this one isn’t technically a scent, but it’s a texture, right? I just couldn’t not include all the metallic or sequined or shiny things on this list, because yessss. I’m especially partial to holographic and sapphire/cobalt blue💙
Apple Cider (or Chaider)
Anything warm and sweet is for sure my jam right now, but I’m especially enjoying the scent and taste of apple cider. Sometimes I add a chai tea bag to the cider and call it chai-der! Don’t know where I come up with these things 😜 but yes, if you’re a fan of spicy/sweet combos, definitely give this one a try.
Hope this post filled you with all the lovely Christmas scents and tastes (or at least, the image of them). If you enjoyed it, please do me a solid and share the graphic below with all your peeps. And let me know what your favorite Christmas scents are in the comments!
Merry Christmas!!
