Blogmas Day 2: All the [Free!!] Advent Bible Reading Plans

Welcome back, friends! Today is the second day of our Blogmas adventure, and I’ll be showing you how you can celebrate Advent for free or very cheap. If you’re not sure what Blogmas is, or you need ideas for how to celebrate it, check out this post with my plans and schedule ๐Ÿ˜‰

Part One: What is Advent?

A very short introduction before we get to the advent Bible reading plans. Advent is a tradition of Christian churches of many different denominations counting down the days until Christmas. The ceremonies and such involved can vary, but the idea is to prepare your heart for the celebration of Jesus’ birth. For this post, I’ll give you every free devotional and Bible reading I can find for the Advent Season. Some are full devotionals, and some are simple lists of Bible verses to read, so you can choose how in-depth you want to go. Enjoy!!

Part Two: Bible Reading Plans

  1. Illustrated Faith – multiple different themes and ideas for Advent, including past kits. I’m using this one from Brianna Showalter. Her illustrations are so adorable!!
  2. Open Journey – a beautiful downloadable kit with 24 cards focusing on the names of Jesus. Reliably Scripture-based and hand painted by the artist <3
  3. Creative Faith Co. – ABCs of Christmas kit in multiple themes!! Other options available on her site as well ๐Ÿ™‚
  4. ByTheWell4God – a physical devotional kit or several digital downloads. Adorable designs!

My Advent Plans

This year, I’m following the Illustrated Faith devotional for the first time. I found this digital traveler’s notebook from Brianna Showalter on a deep discount and printed it out at home over Thanksgiving. Look how beautiful it is!!

In addition to fourteen pages of notebook, the artist filled the margins of the pages with florals and other illustrations, a nice bonus to add in. I also bought the accompanying ephemera printable, which I can keep using after the holidays have ended. Its folksy, almost Scandinavian feel makes it a great match for my Anne of Green Gables inspired theme in my bullet journal and a future Frozen 2 theme in the spring.

The latter match is especially evident since my family’s color printer ran out of ink in the middle of printing the ephemera lol XD.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post. What are your Advent plans? I’d love to hear about them! Or if you don’t celebrate Christmas or Advent, how do you celebrate the holidays?
