It’s that time of year again! November is the month when we all start thinking about thankfulness, maybe on a few days for Thanksgiving, or maybe all month. For the Bible journaling community, this is the month we embark on a 30-day project known as Gratitude Documented. This post will show you what Gratitude Documented is, and my plans for the 2020 project. Enjoy!
What’s Gratitude Documented?
Gratitude Documented is a project begun by Illustrated Faith several years ago. Each year, the company comes up with a list of prompts, one for each day in November. The prompts, and their accompanying Bible verses, are released for free on the Illustrated Faith website. The company also releases a kit of supplies and devotional content, which I have yet to purchase for myself. Here’s a YouTube video from Illustrated Faith explaining Gratitude Documented in more detail. You can reach their website with the craft supplies offered from the video description :).
This Year’s Colors
Although I haven’t purchased Illustrated Faith’s Gratitude Documented 2020 kit, I still like to follow their chosen color scheme and illustration style in my own way. This year, the colors include bright gold, deep orange, and teal, with a hint of light pink. Below are some of the colors I’ve chosen that match as closely as possible with the kit. None of these paints cost me more than 87 cents at Hobby Lobby 😉
My Supplies
Happy Notes Gratitude Notebook
I picked this notebook because it came in a sale package with a free sticker book from the Happy Planner website! I turned the covers inside out (the originals didn’t match the color scheme) and altered the pages with paint and stickers. This journal originally included daily gratitude prompts, but I covered these up with acrylic paints and will use the notebook for my own purposes.
Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pens
I lettered each day’s prompt on the corresponding page using Tombow brush pens. I love these pens because they’re easy to use, waterproof, and make my natural handwriting look so much nicer! Using my favorite pens, I also underlined the title word for each day.
Washi Tape
I picked out several washi tapes to go along with this project. I keep my washi tapes on embroidery floss holders, bound together with a medium-sized book ring. this makes them easy to carry, and gives me the ability to keep as many as I could possibly want in a small space.
Sticker Books
Finally, I’ll use the Happy Planner Modern Farmhouse and Journaling Doodles books for my Gratitude Documented 2020 project, along with some others from my stash.
This pretty well wraps up my supply selection for the project, though I should mention my much-loved Foil Quill pen as well.
The supplies I chose for this project will also coordinate with the bullet journaling and planner supplies I’ve picked for November, which I’ll release on Sunday. For now, here’s a look at October’s bullet journal setup.
Conclusion
As you have seen, it is more than possible to participate in Gratitude Documented this year without having purchased the supplies offered by Illustrated Faith (although they are beautiful and you should purchase if so inclined). You don’t even have to have a journaling Bible; the supplies you already have and a simple notebook are all you need. Here’s a link to the free prompts list on Illustrated Faith’s website. Hope you join us for Gratitude Documented 2020!
