Happy February, and welcome to the second in a new series of bullet journal inspiration posts. This year, we’re getting ANOTHER new Hunger Games book, and since that series is by FAR my favorite, I was inspired to do a whole year of bullet journal themes inspired by the 12 Districts of Panem. Buuuuut… I also wanted to do a Disney princess theme… So now they’re combined in a series I’m calling Panem et Princesses. And it’s actually really fun to think about how all of the iconic princesses might fit in a dystopian society. Hope you enjoy District 2!
Story elements
There are so many different elements of each universe (Disney and Panem) that it was almost overwhelming to try and wrap my head around it all. I ended up choosing a princess/Disney character, a flower mentioned in the Hunger Games series, and something to represent what each district produces. So for District 2, we have:
- buttercup (because of Prim’s cat, the lil sweetie pie)
- Jasmine (because she has a tiger that I can turn into a kitty lol)
- and lots of different stone textures, because the District 2 citizens work in the quarries and the secret Capitol base known as The Nut, which is inside a mountain.
- district 2 is canonically located in Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas, so I also included hints of Grand Canyon-inspired rock formations.
This series is so much fun to make, and I’m enjoying the visual aspect of it so much. But it’s also inspiring the writer side of my brains, so I’m planning on releasing a series of (completely free bc copyright) short story type things each month. I’m also starting grad school though, so we’ll see how many of these stories actually make it out of my brain XD.
