Princess Diaries – Courage, plus a free printable!

Happy Monday, friends, and welcome to another episode of The Gospel According to, where we find Gospel truths in all the fandoms we know and love by heart. I absolutely adored the Princess Diaries movies as a kid, and still have a great appreciation for them even as an adult. This one might feel a little too direct, but the message came to me at a time when I didn’t even know I needed it. Hope you enjoy!

Fandom: “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear. The brave might not live forever, but the cautious never truly live.” – Mia’s father, The Princess Diaries

Verses: Romans 8:15-16, 2 Timothy 1:7, John 14:27, 1 Peter 5:7 NASB

Truth: Because we know that God is never troubled by anything that happens to us, we can trust him with the things we fear and worry about and choose to act with courage rather than fear.

Taylor Swift – Daylight

Welcome back to another episode of The Gospel According to, where we dissect all the beautiful creations this world has to offer, then turn them on their head to see things in a different way. This week, we have an exquisite Taylor Swift song called “Daylight.” Whether you’re a casual fan or completely in love with T-Swizzle, you’ll be encouraged by what this song has to offer. Enjoy!

The Gospel According to Ed Sheeran: Beautiful People

Welcome to another episode of The Gospel According to, where I connect all our beautiful fandoms with even-more beautiful Bible verses and Gospel truths. This week, we’re talking about Ed Sheeran’s “Beautiful People” and how it relates to who we seek to please with our appearances and behavior. Enjoy!

Fandom: “We don’t fit in well, ’cause we are just ourselves… This is my only fear, that we become beautiful people”

Verses: “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10

Nugget: Seeking God’s approval instead of other humans’ is far more fulfilling and leads to higher self-worth and knowledge of our worth.

The Hunger Games – Radiant as the sun.

Welcome or welcome back to the Gospel According to! This week we’re visiting the Hunger Games universe and Katniss’ admiring astonishment at the stunningly beautiful dresses which Cinna created for her. This post was inspired by Never Not Reading’s “Favorites February” series, so be sure to check out her post when you have the chance. Enjoy!

Fandom: “I am not pretty. I am not beautiful. I am as radiant as the sun.” – Katniss

Owl City “Always” part 3 – Always.

Fandom: Owl City, “Always”

Verses: John 14:26, Acts 1:8, Romans 8, John 10:10, Galatians 5:22-23, Matthew 28:19-20

Nugget: Jesus is with us now through the Holy Spirit, fellowship with other believers, and prayer; He will be with us forever in Heaven someday

This is the most important of all the fandom nuggets we will ever discuss here. It sums up the entirety about what I believe about Jesus, God, the universe — everything — and it is immensely important for everyone to hear it! If you have never heard the Gospel before, I’m so happy you’re here, and hope you’ll keep reading. If you’ve heard the Gospel before, but don’t believe yet for any reason, please don’t leave! At the very least, this could change the way you view Christianity, even if it doesn’t convince you to change your mind. And if you’ve heard the Gospel and have trusted Jesus as your Savior, I am so grateful for you. Please, please, please share this post 🙂
