Katniss Everdeen, the Girl on FIRE!!! bullet journal theme 🏹🔥

Happy November, my friends, and welcome to another inspiration/aesthetic post for bullet journaling (or just life I suppose). This month’s mood board, in keeping with the yearly tradition, is Hunger Games themed – but with a focus on Katniss. It includes fiercely feminine colors and a style that celebrates the spirit of our favorite Girl on Fire. Enjoy!

Headcanon

A girl who’s encountered love and loss in her life, doing whatever she can to survive and care for her people. Choosing to volunteer for the helpless, to show vulnerability and honest emotion for the first time, to trust strangers who should be her enemies. Finding ways to survive in even the most dire of circumstances. Taking a stand for what she knows could be instead of running to save herself. Realizing that her people is a wider category than she ever imagined, that she has had an incredible affect on hundreds who have never met her in person. Having lost so many, and fought for so long, she succumbs to the dark… And overcomes it with the fire inside her heart.

Quote(s)

“I want to do something, right here, right now, to shame them, to make them accountable, to show the Capitol that whatever they do or force us to do there is a part of every tribute they can’t own. That Rue was more than a piece in their Games. And so am I.”

The Hunger Games

“‎I’m not going anywhere. I’m going to stay right here and cause all kinds of trouble.”

Catching Fire

What am I going to do?

I take a deep breath. My arms raise slightly – as if recalling the black-and-white wings Cinna gave me – then come to rest at my sides.

“I’m going to be the Mockingjay.”

Mockingjay

“I want to tell the rebels that I am alive. That I’m right here in District Eight, where the Capitol has just bombed a hospital full of unarmed men, women and children. There will be no survivors.” The shock I’ve been feeling begins to give way to fury. “I want to tell people that if you think for one second the Capitol will treat us fairly if there’s a cease-fire, you’re deluding yourself. Because you know who they are and what they do.” My hands go out automatically, as if to indicate the whole horror around me. “This is what they do and we must fight back! President Snow says he’s sending a message. Well I have one for him. You can torture us and bomb and burn our districts to the ground, but do you see that?” One of the cameras follows where I point to the planes burning on the roof of a warehouse across from us. “Fire is catching!” I am shouting now, determined he will not miss a word of it, “And if we burn, you burn with us!”

Mockingjay

Verse of the Month

For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

2 Timothy 1:6-7 nasb

Visual Aesthetic

My bullet journal for November

For this month’s bullet journal I wanted to use the color scheme of the new Arrows Prayer Journal that I designed and expand some of the themes that I included there. I love the combination of bright flame-like colors and the bold black borders! This was also the first time that I tried painting in my journal, and the pages held up decently well. You can find out more about the prayer journal by reading this post!

Things to look forward to!

I have lots of things planned for this month, including:

  • participating in Illustrated Faith’s Gratitude Documented project (Find out more about my plans here!)
  • making fan art inside the Hunger Games books, inspired by an artist I saw on Instagram
  • a full-size oil painting inspired by Katniss arriving in the Capitol at the end of Mockingjay
  • and possibly the release of my very own custom-designed washi tapes!!

A random YouTube video I found : )

This is a video that popped up in my YouTube home feed recently and I was thoroughly mesmerized by its beauty 🤩😲😻🔥🏹

I hope you’v3ee enjoyed and were inspired by this month’s Katniss bullet journal theme. What theme are you using for November?

Happy journaling!

  1. […] that’s just what I’ve thought of so far! I love how well this project fits with my bullet journal theme for November— I would’ve participated regardless, but it just feels even more special now […]
