Happy Friday, lovely people! This month has a lot of focus on love and romance, and for those of us Single Pringles it can be a little hard to swallow. When I’m not busy fangirling over fictional characters or shipping #tomdaya, these are the songs I like to listen to that remind me that I, too, am valued and dearly loved. Please enjoy this Single on Valentines Day playlist π₯°
Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved
The first song on this curated Single on Valentines Day playlist is a true classic: “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5. I LOVE the chill and soothing feel of the music in this song, which is primarily acoustic guitar and a hint of drums. I also love the lyrics, which are a reminder to me of the faithful and persistent love of God, even in the midst of what we might call desert seasons. Here’s the post I wrote about this song:
Ariana Grande – pov
Okay, this song is absolutely ESSENTIAL for anyone who’s single this year, at any point, ever. I almost cried the first time I heard it, and it continues to move me to this day. Ariana Grande’s voice is beautiful regardless of what she’s singing about, but the lyrics of this song remind me of Psalm 139, 2 Corinthians 5, SO MANY BEAUTIFUL VERSES HERE AHHHHHHHHH But anyway, post coming soon ππ»π€©πΈ
Imagine Dragons – Next to Me
Next up is another song that has made my cry MULTIPLE TIMES in the past year or so since I discovered it, and also the song that officially made me a Card-Carrying Imagine Dragons Fan. The overall theme/storyline is someone thanking their beloved for staying by their side even after being let down and hurt by them many times in the past, present and future…. Which is LITERALLY THE GOSPEL MESSAGE COME ON!!! Here’s the post:
Adele – Make You Feel My Love
If you’re the type of person to go looking for a Single on Valentines Day playlist, then you’ve probably heard this song before (plus also Adele is INCREDIBLE π). As such, it may or may not have breakup- or lonely-type feels attached to it, BUT while I know those feelings are real and valid, it can also be helpful to replace them with more uplifting thoughts– such as the fact that there IS someone who will hold us and comfort us and do everything possible to help us believe in the truth that we are loved. Don’t believe me? Check out Psalm 94:19 ππ₯°
Owl City – Always
This song is from Owl City’s 2018 album, Cinematic, and it is SO BEAUTIFUL I can’t even π The singer just about quotes Matthew 28:20 in the chorus, and the verses are equally touching. And of course anyone who’s read the Harry Potter or Hunger Games series knows how we feel about the word Always… π€©ππ

Etta James – At Last
Another classic πAlthough this one probably belongs more so to an older generation (I got it from my dad, who got it from my grandma), it is truly timeless in its exquisite beauty. Etta James sings of the moment that she met her true love and all the lonely nights seem to fade away in light of the bliss she now feels. Sigh… I originally compared this song to the coming of Christ that we celebrate on Christmas, but we can also connect it with the bliss of a newfound or newly deepened relationship with Him.
Coldplay – Army of One
Ooooooh, this is SUCH a good song!! I love about 90 percent of Coldplay’s songs, but this one is especially amazing as it speaks of someone who vows to fight for their beloved: “There isn’t a fire that I wouldn’t walk through; my Army of One is gonna fight for you…” Which sounds almost EXACTLY like a verse in Exodus 14, where God tells the Israelites that He will fight for them. And of course, He only needs One to beat any kind of army ππ€©π
Dear Evan Hansen – You Will Be Found
Yes. Just… Yes. YES! Yesssssss… I saw the Dear Evan Hansen musical live a few weeks ago and it was INCREDIBLE π²ππ€© but I almost prefer the recorded version of this song in particular. the overlay of audio representing people commenting on Evan’s video gives me CHILLS and the song itself is super powerful. Definitely give this one a listen if you’re feeling lost or alone this Valentine’s Dayπ₯°
Sleeping At Last – You Are Enough
Ohh, I could talk about how much I love this song ALL DAY! Sleeping At Last is known for their dreamy, sleepytime soothing songs, and this one is no different. I love the piano melody that underlies the vocal track, and the LYRICS are some of the most encouraging words I’ve ever heard that didn’t come straight from the Bible. Here’s the post I wrote about it:
Taylor Swift – Daylight
And last but not least, we have a little bit of T-Swizzle and one of the semi-rare songs where she ISN’T throwing shade on a past flame or sassing someone who’s done her wrong. Instead, she sings of feeling completely enraptured by her true love and suddenly realizing what love should actually be like. Mmmm Hmmm, this song reminds me that the most important thing to focus on this Valentine’s Day (and every day) is Jesus. Highly recommend this song, and the post accompanying:
I hope you’ve enjoyed this Single on Valentines Day playlist. I’d love it if you followed my Spotify playlist — it has TONS more inspiring, encouraging and uplifting songs to remind you that you are loved.
Happy listening!
