CSB Chronological Day-By-Day Bible review – my ideal daily reading Bible!

Happy Wednesday, friends, and welcome to a post that I’ve been wanting to share for a couple of months now. It’s the beginning of the year, and for some of us, that means yet another attempt to read through the Bible. There are tons of Bibles and reading plans out there, but only one fits my ideal for a no-pressure, no-guilt, read-at-your-own-pace Bible. Here’s my review of the CSB Day-By-Day Chronological Bible, and why I think it is absolutely perfect for those of us who want to read the Bible consistently, but don’t always keep up with the other formats available. Hope you enjoy!

Light of the world – what I learned from Diwali

Happy Diwali, friends! Over the past few weeks, I’ve been anticipating the arrival of this traditional holiday from India and trying to learn as much as I can about it. The abundance of colors and sensory details, the symbolism of light triumphing over darkness and good over evil, is absolutely stunning to me! And of course, me being me, I automatically looked for the Christian/Biblical tie-ins in this glorious festival. Come with me as I learn what my faith has in common with the cultural and religious festival of Diwali. Hope you enjoy!

Verses: Psalm 119:105, 1 John 1:5, 5:4, John 1:5, 8:12, Acts 17:16-34, Revelation 7:9

Truth: The themes and symbolism of Diwali point to the true Light of the world and how He overcame the darkness once and for all.

Luna Lovegood – “Don’t worry, you’re just as sane as I am.”

Happy Monday, friends, and welcome to another Gospel According to post! Luna Lovegood is one of my favorite characters from the Harry Potter universe, and I think about her iconic line, “You’re as sane as I am,” quite often. In fact, I think it can be a great way of explaining how it feels to be a believer in an unseen God in a world that claims He no longer exists. Hope you enjoy!

Fandom: “Don’t worry, you’re just as sane as I am.” – Luna Lovegood

Verses: Hebrews 11:1-3, 1 Corinthians 1:17-19, 2 Corinthians 4:5-6, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 20:29,31

Truth: Even when the world doubts us or calls our faith ignorant or crazy, we can rest assured that what we believe is absolutely true.

Holy Week 2023 – For you. (Twenty One Pilots “Smithereens” lyrics)

Happy Holy Week, friends, and welcome to another post chez moi. This year, I’ve been thinking back to what I learned in previous Holy Week seasons, and I felt called to bring those things back out into the light. To start with, here’s a reflection on Twenty One Pilots’ “Smithereens” lyrics. In the spirit of the newly updated Fangirl: Fulfilled devotional journal, I’m going to show you how to use this song to share the Gospel with your fellow TOP fans, whether they believe in the Lord or not. Hope you enjoy!

Fandom: “For you, I’d go step to a dude much bigger than me/ For you, I know I would get messed up with 153/ For you, I would get beat to smithereens.” – Twenty One Pilots “Smithereens” lyrics

Verses: Romans 5:6-8, Mark 15:3-5, 12-15, 17-20, 24, 27-30, 33-34, 37

Truth: God proves His love for us by allowing His Son Jesus to suffer and die for us… and then to purchase our salvation.
