Finding Nemo – lost sons and unconditional love

Happy Monday, friends, and welcome to another fandoms post! I watched the classic Pixar movie Finding Nemo a few weeks ago and was struck by its similarity to a famous parable. It’s a truly beautiful story of family and coming-of-age, both for Nemo the child and Marlin the father. I can’t wait to share what I found for this one. Hope you enjoy!

Happy Monday, friends, and welcome to another fandoms post! It’s finally starting to feel like summer where I live, and I could not be more grateful. Feeling the warmth and light of sun on my face makes me think of thes classic and soothing song by the Beatles, “Here Comes the Sun.” And of course, thinking of the Beatles made me think of Gospel truths to share. Good Friday 2023 – Restored.

Happy Good Friday, friends, and welcome to a new fandoms-as-Gospel post! I’ve been thinking about this one for months now, and I’m super excited to share it with you. More specifically, I’ve been thinking about Avatar: The Last Airbender and how Aang and his epic final battle with Fire Lord Ozai is sort of a picture of the triumph that Jesus Christ gained over Satan and his power on this day, roughly 2,023 years ago. He made it possible for us to return to the people we were meant to be, and He defeated (but didn’t eliminate) sin, Hell, and death. Someday, He will return to Earth, destroy the Enemy for good, and bring us into eternal and unhindered fellowship with Him forever. Amen!

Holy Week 2023 – Imagine Dragons Next to Me

This year, I’ve been thinking back to what I learned in previous Holy Week seasons, and I felt called to bring those things back out into the light. Today I’m remembering the adorable OTP that I love most of all (ssshhhh, don’t tell Percabeth), Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. I could literally write a novel about how much I love their story and how their love reminds me of God’s love for me. But I promise to try and keep this post to a reasonable length!
