Hello, faithful friends, and welcome to another Bible journaling post! November is almost here, and with it comes the annual Gratitude Documented project from Illustrated Faith. This project celebrates all the things we have to be thankful for in a creative and inspiring way, and I’m SO excited to be participating this year with the full kit! I also found several connections between the prompts for the month and some quotes and themes from my all-time favorite book/movie series, The Hunger Games. Enjoy!
What is Gratitude Documented?
Created by Shanna Noel, the founder of Illustrated Faith, Gratitude Documented is a 30-day challenge followed yearly by the Bible journaling and crafting community. Each year, the company releases a full physical kit, loads of printables, and a FREE prompt list so that anyone can participate, regardless of budget or financial constraints. As a broke college student, I GREATLY appreciated this, and now that I have a full-time job (and very few expenses), I was beyond excited to finally purchase the physical kit for this year.
You can find the prompt list and all the printables, as well as some physical goodies, on Illustrated Faith’s website here : )
My Plans for Gratitude Documented 2022
For my own project this year, I created a tag ring with the cards included in the kit and some coordinating scrapbook paper. I love using all the beautiful things! I’ve also included some printable goodies from Creative Faith & Co. and a GORGEOUS fall sticker book from the Happy planner. Here are some pics of my tag ring:
I’ve also decided to write out each day’s verse in my bullet journal, setting aside some space for study into the context, key words, and cross-references from each verse. Here are some snapshots of my pages so far:
Connections with the Hunger Games!!
I’m so excited about this part!! As I was reading through the prompts for this year’s Gratitude Documented project, I couldn’t help but notice some links to the Hunger Games series. Here’s a list of what I’ve found so far! You can click on each link to find out more about each fandom nugget : )
- Day 3 – Love that endures – “Dark Days” from the unofficial-official first movie soundtrack (Here’s my journaling process!)
- Day 4 – Bold prayers – All the things from the new Arrows prayer journal
- Day 9 – lovingkindness – Everlark ahhhhh all the things so beautiful 💖😭😻🤩(my process here!)
- Day 14 – transformation – Katniss transforming from the bride fashioned by President Snow to the Mockingjay who will lead her people to freedom (my process here!)
- Day 17 – Seeing others through the lens of Jesus – “Remember who the real enemy is.”
- Day 18 – Contagious joy – “You have no idea, the effect you can have”/”No one can help but admire your spirit.”
- Day 23 – Hopeless to hopeful – “Hope is the only thing stronger than fear”
- Day 25 – extravagant love – “You could live a hundred lifetimes and never deserve him.”
- Day 27 – He guards my heart – Mockingjay Armor
- Day 30 – My heart belongs to Jesus – “You love me. Real or not real?”
And that’s just what I’ve thought of so far! I love how well this project fits with my bullet journal theme for November— I would’ve participated regardless, but it just feels even more special now 😊
Conclusion
I hope you’ve enjoyed and were inspired by this post about my plans and ideas for Gratitude Documented 2022 from Illustrated Faith. If you’d like to participate but don’t have the full physical kit, don’t worry! This amazing YouTube video has some tips on how to use printable stickers to their fullest potential. You can also use the prompt list alone, spending $0, and still getting tons of goodness from the Word and your own reflection.
Happy journaling!
