Colorful Reptiles, Ruined Cities, and Girls with Guitars: Songbirds and Snakes Aesthetic

It’s the first of the month, and that means its time for a new aesthetic and bullet journal theme! I’ve been listening to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes on audiobook, and it’s just as incredible as I remember. If you haven’t yet, you must read it!! So of course I had to base this month’s theme on the novel, and its principle ship. Enjoy!

Mental Image

A city still coping with the aftermath of a devastating war. People passing by, looks of distrust, avoiding eye contact. A girl with smudged makeup and a beautiful but worn dress, singing before a crowd of her enemies. A young man, full of ambition and good intentions, but doomed to become the antagonist. A star-crossed love story between two people who were never supposed to meet, much less survive. Forests full of fog, streetlights cutting through darkness. A meadow full of flowers, a hanging tree at its edge. And all the snakes, of all shapes, sizes and colors. Some look friendly, some dangerous.

In other words, an aesthetic entirely based on the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins.

Planner Set-Up

Here’s a look at my bullet journal set-up for the month. I made a process video, but haven’t finished editing yet, so it will be linked as soon as it’s done.

Hope you were inspired by this aesthetic. If you were, feel free to pin and share any of the images from this post and follow me on Instagram for updates throughout the month :).

Happy November!
