WWW Wednesday – Everland Series by Wendy Spinale

Happy Wednesday, bookish buddies! I’ve been wanting to share more book-related content for a while now, and this tag (originally from ..) is the perfect way to do it. Enjoy!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly challenge or tag for bookish bloggers. It’s used to share:

  • What you’ve just finished reading
  • What you’re currently reading
  • What you plan to read next

This tag is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. Thanks for sharing!

Just finished: Everland

Since my bullet journal theme for March is Peter Pan, I went looking for some good retellings to enjoy this month. I’m loving this series!! It’s a masterful retelling that puts a steampunk twist on the classic story and does SUCH a good job of paying homage to the original characters and iconic lines without copying too much. I especially love that the author cast Tiger Lily’s character as Lily, a super-awesome Indian (as in, from India) character who becomes an important part of the group.

Currently reading: Umberland

I’m currently reading Umberland, the sequel to Everland, which is a retelling of Alice in Wonderland. It’s AWESOME!! Again with the steampunk, again with the characters that are both classic and refreshing. I love that Pete and Gwen’s story continues in this one, although they aren’t always the focal point.

Next up: Ozland

After I finish Umberland, I’ll be finishing up the series with Ozland, which you can probably guess is a retelling of The Wizard of Oz. Looking forward to see how this one goes!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this WWW Wednesday post. What are you currently reading? Do you have any retellings to recommend?

Happy reading!
